Analog Digital

What is the difference between analog and digital cordless phone and how do I change from one to another?

I have a Cell Phone and Verizon Wireless at the top of the phone, an A in a box when it comes to analog. When is digital, 1x in a box. What is it?

Analog and digital (1x) technologies are two types of technology cell phone tower. Analog is an older technology that can be used to make calls. If I remember correctly, I believe that the coverage Analog spreads beyond Digital, but Digital coverage allows you to do things like text messaging, Internet browsing, sending MMS messages, and different things like that and there is a better multimedia quality with digital voice with Analog. In general, you want to stay digital, but your phone will automatically switch to analog coverage if there is no alternative. It is different for each phone but you can manually edit to analog technology if it is available (I do not know why you want). On my Nokia phone, you go: Menu> Settings> Network, down mode, press Select and select analog only. Again, unless you have a reason you want peticular use analog towers, I would stay with Digital! Hope this helps!
