Silver Men

Where can I get a sterling silver chain for men for relatively cheap?

I want to get a nice sterling silver chain for my brother for his birthday. I went into Macy's and JcPenny and they said they do not have them anymore. I live in NJ and in the malls they have little jewelry stands that sell jewelry but it's pretty expensive. Anyone know where I can go that's relatively cheap? Thanks.

It depends on how heavy chain your are looking for. Prices on the sterling silver jewelry totally based on its weigh and workmanship on it.

In retail, almost it is not possible to find less than $2.00 - $3.00 per gram. For your reference; a very basic and thin chain is about 3 gr in 16". And for and adult man 20" is the standard; also men wear thick chains.

If he likes I can recommend a thick "box chain" which has most reasonable price comparing with figaro or snake chain. But at least you will pay about $30-40 for a man chain and it can go up to $150 depends on its weigh.

Regarding online stores; I do not think they are the best options for jewelry. You have to search a lot in order to get best prices.

Regarding little carts or kiosks in the malls; you can go there on Monday or slow days of the mall and try to bargain. Ask what's its weigh? What are they charging per gram and bargain if they are willing to.

Big department stores do not sell mens chains because mark up is quite less on these items.
