Lady Quartz

Opinion on nose rings...?

I work at a vet clinic and I want to get my nose pierced. The lady that hired me (she is not my boss) does not think I should get one and I think she would be pretty mad if I did but the vet that is actually my "boss" would never say anything about it. I just dont want there to be a big fuss over it. My question is If I got it could the piercer pierce it with a retainer made of quartz (i have already bought one) and Would it be worth me getting it done and someone fussing about it at work? We are very much like a family where I work and I dont want to disrespect any one. Please help because this is something I have been wanting for a while now!!
If I got it done It would be a tiny stud. Not a hoop or anything..

Personally, I do not care for body piercings except ear lobes. However this is always a matter of personal choice as it is your body, and you are the one who will live with your choice. I know a very preppy looking private school teacher, a meticulous dresser with every hair in place, who has the tiniest diamond stud in her nose. I did not even notice it for a long time. The youngest doctor at my vet's office has a diamond nose stud also. So they are much more acceptable if done tastefully.

It is great that you are hesitant out of respect for your boss and co-workers. You could sit down with your boss privately, discuss your concerns and see what she has to say. Better to do that than just go ahead and find out that it hurt your working relationship. She may be concerned about how her clients will view a member of her staff having a piercing. If she is OK with it, I would not worry about the rest of her staff.

The biggest concern is not so much what other people may think but how will you feel about this hole in your nose in 10 years, 25 years... I suppose you can take the stud out but there will be a hole there forever. Sort of the same thing as a tattoo that you no longer want... I would be very sure before you do it.
