Which Jesus Christ Superstar movie rendition is most like the musical?

I love the music from "Jesus Christ Superstar" but I haven't seen the actual musical, my mom has. Can anyone who has seen any of the movie renditions of the musical give me some detail on whether the movie follows the musical closely, how closely, and whether it was well done and if you would recommend it. Thanks!

Wow!! I love this movie. Its my all time favorite. yes the music follows the movie really well. When you listen to the music imagine people doing the actions and singing. That's how close the music is with it. The movie does however, have a hippie 80s feel to it so if your not int that it might not be for you but trust me if you like the music Im 90 percent sure you will like the movie. give it a chance it will be the most inspirational, worth while two hours you can experience.
