Polish Silver

I have a Celtic cross that says "Bliss Sterling" on the back. Is this the same as that Sterling Silver? If it is not there another way to polish it? I used silver polish regularly and it has not well elucidated. I also tried the toothpaste that I heard works. Any other suggestion or polish brand to use?
