Gold Plated

How much are gold plated walking canes worth?

Hello,

I found a couple of antique cane that are gold plated and have carving on them. Would anyone be able to tell me how much they are worth if I sent them a picture of the cane?

The gold plating doesnt add any value to the cane. The value would be completely as an antique. Gold plating is so thin that it literally adds nothing to the value.

If you are looking for an antique appraisal...I have had two good experiences with getting things appraised at American Gold and Silver http://www.americangoldandsilverexchange.com. They paid me decent money for the gold and diamond rings I sent them and I was happy with the result. They are advertised fairly heavily where I live and are part of a publicly traded company (DGSE Companies Inc) which has a great BBB rating: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/gold-silver-and-platinum-dealers/dallas-gold-and-silver-exchange-in-dallas-tx-356

One thing that I liked about them is that they called me with an offer on all of my items individually....so if I didnt like the price I could have just said no and had them send it back. I had a friend that sent her watch to another mail-in place and they just sent her a check...without even checking with her.
