Blue Quartz

A combination of red light and blue light is incident on a flat piece of quartz (see the following figure). The two colors refract at different angles.

What is the angle Δθ between the two rays? Assume the angle if incidence is 53°. (Take the index of refraction of blue light in quartz to be 1.47, and 1.46 for red light.)
n1 * sin(a1) = n2 * sin(a2)
1 * sin(53) = 1.47 * sin(a2)
a2 = arcsin(sin(53)/1.47) = 32.908 degrees
a3 = arcsin(sin(53)/1.46) = 33.162 degrees
difference is .254 degrees
