I got some bracelets from the other day from a store (some jelly and some silly bands). I put them on and with in a few minutes the hand i put the silly bands on began to itch and turn red. I took them off and checked the package and it said 100% silicone.
Then I looked at the jelly bracelets and their package(since it wasn't bothering me) and it said it was made of rubber.
So does it mean I could possibly be allergic to the silly bands?
People aren't normally allergic to silicone (some are) but some people find that when it becomes irritating (like constant rubbing, like a bracelet) it causes rashes. This happens like a tight cuff of a glove or shirt, for example.
If you feel watery eyes, rashes on your face, or something occurring other than where you're using the bands, remove them NOW.
Personally, silicone bands irritate my skin, because the texture of them causes irritation. Not necessarily the contents of them. Try putting lotion where you had rashes, and see if it helps. You'll probably get used to it, but if you don't like them, then you can decide whether to wear them or not.
