Print Pattern

I want to make a kimono with the Akatsuki red and white clouds on it. To avoid sewing little red and white clouds on the fabric, I want to try silk screen.I went to youtube and watched some tutorials how to silk screen and I'm starting to get the idea. But what they're using are cotton, would the ink be alright with silk?
On the tutorials, they only do logos, pictures and so forth on one part of the fabric but what is the best way to print patterns? I bought a 10 yard black silk for my kimono. Since I don't know how to sew, I'm going to the dress maker but I want the fabric to be printed first before cutting it. If I print the pattern when the kimono is done, I'm afraid there will be irregulars on the print and I don't want that.
Cotton and silk have very different fibers and absorption properties. I would suggest having the whole length of silk screen printed by a professional. Then you can take it to the dress maker to be completed. You've already got a lot invested by deciding to use silk and a dress maker. The best way to protect that investment is to have the screening done by a professional.
