postcards mailing from europe to usa ?

ok i was just wondering ill be spending time in london,paris,berlin and frankfurt i know u can mail a post card from the eiffiel tower but like in berlin and frankfurt can u just buy a post card and fill it out and drop it in the mail or do u need a stamp like here in the usa

I was going to make some remarks but I have seen that somebody else already did it so I will just provide the details.

France and the United Kingdom have no special tariff for postcards, you need the overseas letter stamp which is €0.85 for France and for the United Kingdom £0.56 (eff.April 2009 £0.62). In Germany we have a special tariff for postcards but it is more expensive than in France and costs €1.00. By aware of the fact that despite of open borders and a common currency the postal service is still dependent upon the individual countries. You cannot use a stamp bought in France for posting a German postcard although both are issued in the Euro (€) currency. When you buy stamps mention that you need them for outside Europe since the prices vary between domestic, continental and international.
