Not Working

I have a 3.2 Megapixel Canon Powershot A75 and it is not functioning properly. It will turn on and I can look at pictures I have on there, but when I go to the take a picture mode, the screen is just black with flicky white lines through it. It just started doing this and would appreciate any help!!

Your Canon A75 is three years old and it could be the end of the road for your faithful companion. I know this is hard to hear when it cost $300 new, but they are selling for $50-75 on eBay in "like new" condition.
Rather than fix it, consider a new Canon A570-IS for under $200.
