exodus 21:7 gives the ok to sale your daughter into slavery. exodus 22:20 says you must kill worshipers of other gods
leviticus 19:19 prohibits growing two different crops in the same field as it is an abomination to god.
deuteronomy 22:13-21 says a marriage is only valid if the woman is a virgin, if she is not she shall be executed
but get this the bible never says sex between two women is prohibited only between two men. child molestation is also not prohibited.
wouldn't a book about a perfect god not overlook these things. it's all simple really. the bible was written by brutal bronze age desert nomads.
The Bible as we know it was compiled from oral stories that had been around for hundreds of years.
The rules in the Old Testament are the rules of bronze age nomads. Told and retold for hundreds of years.
I am sure that there all sorts of errors that have crept in over the years. Unavoidable, really. Like typos! The point of the book remains valid though, even if there are a few typos.
That is the real point, I think. Do you get the message? Do you accept that message? Or do you obsess over typos?
